What do I teach?
I offer one-to-one tuition in piano, organ,
electronic keyboard, and music theory. Musical understanding
and appreciation go hand-in-hand with a sound, natural instrumental
technique.
Whom do I teach?
Students of all ages and abilities learn and
are welcome to learn with me, from complete
beginners to Grade 8. Those wishing to brush up on
old skills - no matter how long the break! - or who wish to try
something that they have always wanted are especially
sought after.
Where do I teach?
Piano, keyboard and theory lessons are given at my home
on the north side of Edinburgh, 10 minutes bus-ride from the
city centre.
How long are lessons and how much do they cost?
This depends really on the age and current standard of
the individual; beginners are better with half-hour lessons,
and advanced or adult students up to an hour - hour-and-a-half. My
rate is £12 per half-hour.
Why do I teach?
I have been very privileged to have
had a first-class musical education at one of the top
Conservatoires in Europe. I have a desire to pass on the
knowledge I have gained and consider teaching an essential facet in any musician's career.
